Waubonsie Valley hockey defeated Lincoln-Way, 7-3 on Sunday, to open up their 2014 playoff run. The Warriors got goals from the league’s top two scorers in Ben Vietri and Tommy Stobart, each with three goals apiece. The Warriors added an empty net goal late in the game.

No. 10 WV girls volleyball defeated No. 8 Joliet Catholic at home Monday night in straight games, 25-14-25-17. Senior Rachel Minarick led the way with 13 kills, three blocks and eight assists. Taylor Dunwell and Brooke Burling added seven kills and six kills, respectively.
In what was a strange start to the season, Waubonsie Valley football opened up the 2013 campaign on a Saturday night. Severe storms and lightning postponed the originally scheduled kickoff on Friday night.
