AURORA – Waubonsie Valley will hold its annual Veterans Day ceremony on Thursday, November 11 at 9:00 a.m. in the WV auditorium. This year’s ceremony will be a reflection on the Vietnam Conflict.

The ceremony will include an interview panel discussion with Army veterans Bob Bronson, Fred Jacobs and William Schmidtgall. Following the ceremony, the day will also include breakout sessions for students. Speakers include Gold Star Family Joe and Gloria Caruso, Lt. Col. Kari Fleming, Sgt. David Goff and Jim Rose.

In addition, Waubonsie Valley has displayed a veterans tribute wall in the school’s atrium. The tribute wall consists of pictures and service information for those who have served.

Waubonsie Valley is also coming together for Operation Support Our Troops, which is an effort to collect donated snack items to donate to veterans. Last year, Waubonsie Valley sent over 1,100 pounds of snacks and other items.

The Veterans Day ceremony is closed to the public, but a live video stream will be available at wvtvmedia.org. For more information, visit www.ipsd.org.
