BATAVIA – It didn’t take long for Andrew Schweitzer to get his first win as new Waubonsie Valley boys basketball coach. The Warriors won their season opener, 70-43, over Chicago Al-Raby on Tuesday. The game was the first of a four-game stretch in a five-day span, part of the Batavia Ken Peddy Windmill City Classic.
Waubonsie followed up with a 76-52 win over Providence St. Mel on Wednesday. “Excellent toughness and intensity,” said Schweitzer on Twitter. “Looking forward to the journey with this squad!”
The Warriors will face Marmion on Friday at 6:00 p.m. then close out on Saturday against the host Bulldogs for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at Batavia High School.
