Boys Swim Makes Mark at State

WINNETKA –  After DuPage Valley Conference finals and IHSA Sectionals, the Warriors were chomping at the bit to get to IHSA State.

Junior Jared Simpson started the day for the Warriors in the 200-yard individual medley consolation, finishing tenth in 1:52.63, beating a Waubonsie school record. In the preliminary, Simpson qualified with a 1:53.21, again breaking a school record.

Simpson finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke in :50.44, surpassing his own school record. Simpson qualified the day before with a :51.22, also breaking his own school record.

Junior Bryan Ellig closed out the day in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing eighth with a :58.09. Ellig qualified the day before with a :57.64.

Overall, the Warriors finished in 19th place as a team, the third year in a row that they finished in the Top 20.
