AURORA – The Warriors are more than happy to return to the playoffs in 2018, after having missed out in 2017. However, a tall order awaits them in the Bolingbrook Raiders. Waubonsie Valley was announced as a no. 22 seed, which pitted them against the 11th-seeded Raiders. The two will face off on Friday night for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff at Bolingbrook High School.

The Raiders finished the regular season at 7-2 and fourth-place with a 5-2 record in the Southwest Suburban Conference. Bolingbrook is led by two Big Ten commits defensive back Cameron Mitchell and tailback Anthony Williams, Jr. They did win the IHSA state title back in 2011 and finished second in 1993. Their only two losses this year came at the hands of top 10 teams Lincoln-Way East and Homewood Flossmoor.

Waubonsie Valley finished 6-3. The Warriors started the season off with a five-game winning streak, then lost three in a row before finishing the season with a win at Metea Valley. Offensively, the Warriors are led by 1,000-yard rusher Bryce Logan. Defensively, Waubonsie Valley held four opponents to 10 points or less this year, including playoff teams Neuqua Valley and Edwardsville.
