OSWEGO – Waubonsie Valley is hosting the IHSA Sectionals this year and the girls cross country team did not want to miss out on competing at home. The Warriors took care of business at the IHSA Regionals in Oswego on Saturday by finishing fourth with 126 points.
Junior Ashley Heidenrich led the Warriors in 11th place, finishing in 18:18. Junior Katelyn Mullinax and senior Sarah Vitro followed up with 15th- and 18th-place, respectively. Senior Jennifer Velazquez and freshman Payton Green contributed with finishes under 20 minutes.
The IHSA Sectionals are Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at Waubonsie Valley High School.
