AURORA – Waubonsie Valley boys swim team had a strong showing at the IHSA Sectionals at Metea Valley High School on Saturday. The Warriors finished second overall, 15 points behind first-place Naperville Central.
Some of the top performances included second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke from junior Brian Knothe and 500-yard freestyle from junior Lucas Conrads.
Third-place finishes included Conrads in the 200-yard freestyle, senior, Aayush Deshpande in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly.
Junior Elmer Wang finished 4th in the 100-yard backstroke and 7th in the 200-yard individual medley.
The Warriors finished second in the 200-yard medley relay and fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
State finals take place on February 28 and 29 at Evanston High School.
