The Illinois High School Scholastic Bowl Coaches Association describes scholastic bowl as “a test of knowledge played out between two teams using buzzers. Scholastic bowl is played in teams of four or five players each.” The matches consist of tossup questions and bonus questions in subjects such as history, science, and literature. Other subjects include geography, math, visual art, music, religion, mythology, philosophy, social sciences, current events, and popular culture.

Waubonsie will compete in three matches against Carbondale, Macomb and Rockford Auburn on Saturday in Normal, Illinois. If they win all three, they will advance to the championship round in the afternoon.

The Warriors compete at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. at Heartland Community College. For more information, ihsa.org.
