AURORA – They were the visiting team on their home field, but that didn’t bother the 13th-seeded Warriors on Wednesday night, as they defeated 4th-seeded Downers Grove South, 3-1, in the IHSA Regional Semifinal at WV Baseball Field.

Waubonsie took the lead from the very beginning on a leadoff double by Ryan Gustaitis in the top of the first. Nick Martin pinch ran for Gustaitis, who then scored on a passed ball. In the third inning, Blake Pietryk doubled to score Martin and Hiroshy Wong for a 3-0 lead.
