Seventh Inning Rally Walks Off Wildcats

AURORA – Down one, Warrior baseball scored two in the bottom of the 7th inning to beat Neuqua Valley, 4-3, in walk-off fashion on Monday afternoon at Waubonsie Valley High School.

Connor Beren lead the inning off with a walk and advanced to second on a balk. Ryan Lucas bunted Beren over to third. After a Ryan Gustaitis hit-by-pitch, Owen Roberts singled home Beren to tie the game. Ben Ford then doubled home Gustaitis for the winning run.

Ford went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Sean Carroll went 2-for-2 with one RBI. Josh Hung and Hiroshy Wong each added a hit.

Riley Roberts pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs while striking out five.

Waubonsie improved to 14-8 on the year and have now won three in a row. They’ll travel to Naperville to take on Neuqua in the second of a three-game series.
