WVTV Places Third, Fourth at Chicagoland Film Festival

NAPERVILLE – Waubonsie Valley Media Production placed twice in the same category at the Midwest Media Educators Association at Neuqua Valley High School on Friday.

In the live events sports coverage category, WVTV won third place for its broadcast of Waubonsie Valley boys basketball against Naperville Central and fourth place for its broadcast of Waubonsie Valley girls basketball against Naperville North.

Emma Eurich and Ben Farmer were student directors on each show, with student production teams consisting of Michelle Cano, Gabe Colin, James Gorgey, Joseph Gorgey, Zack Heneghan, Luke Limjoco, Paisley Namowicz, Kody Riggins, Amariah Scott, Braden Strasma, Adam Torreon, Chris Veal and Payton Zwirek.

It’s the fourth consecutive year that the program has placed in the top 5, (3rd in 2023, 2nd in 2022, 1st in 2021).

MMEA is a group of high school educators that network by sharing ideas, techniques, information and technical knowledge about media production curricula and activities. The film festival consists of over 50 high school programs from around the Chicagoland area.
