AURORA – Warrior boys track and field took second place in a four-team meet at Waubonsie Valley on Tuesday night. The meet included Neuqua Valley, Naperville Central and York.
In the 200 meter run, senior Brody Squires finished 2nd with a :23.08.
Junior Zack Hayden finished 4th in the 800 meter run in 2:06.80.
In the 1600 meter event, the Warriors claimed the top four spots. Senior Gavin Ebenezer in 4:35.08, senior Kyle Sullivan in 4:46.38, junior Austin McInturff in 4:48.00, and junior Tyler Heap in 4:53.21.
In the 110 meter hurdles, junior CJ Fykes finished fourth in :17.09.
Senior Amir Spikener, senior Tyjon Mance, junior Niels DeBroucker and Squires were the four-person Warrior team that won the 4×100 meter relay in :43.94. .
In the 4×400 meter relay, senior Erik Holstead, Sullivan, Heap and senior Gavin Ebenezer finished in 3:47.38.
In the field events, junior Austin Gianino finished 2nd in the high jump with a 1.81 meter jump. Senior Erik Holstead finished 3rd in the pole vault with a 3.98 meter vault. Squires and junior Liem Smith finished first and second with jumps of 6.90 and 5.84, respectively. Gianino won the triple jump with a jump of 12.19 meters.
The Warriors return to Dick Kerner Stadium on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. for the annual Red Ribbon Invite.
