EVANSTON – The Waubonsie Valley boys swim team finished fifth at the IHSA Finals in Evanston on Saturday.
Arnav Deshpande, Brian Knothe, Aayush Deshpande and Lucas Conrads placed sixth in the 200-yard medley relay to start the day off. The Warriors finished in 1:33.69.
Conrads followed up with a 10th place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:40.80.
Aayush Deshpande finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49.16.
It was Aayush Desphande again in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing third in :49.06.
In the next event, Conrads finished fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:34.73.
Knothe finished fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke in :56.38.
Finally, the Warriors finished out the day in the 400-yard freestyle relay in sixth place in 3:08.26, consisting of Conrads, Aayush Deshpande, Elmer Weng and Knothe.
The Warriors finished with 85 points and an overall fifth place team finish. It was the sixth time in program history that the Warriors had finished in the top 5.
