AURORA – It was an eery feeling at the WV Aquatic Center on Thursday night. There were no fans. There was no cheering section. COVID-19 restrictions prevent any families and/or students from being spectators at meets. However, that did not stop the Warriors from putting on a show, as they defeated West Aurora, 132-60, in their season opener.
Waubonsie won 10 of the individual events, including four swimmers who won two events each. There were no relay events.
Amehia Selmon won the 50-yard breaststroke in :34.57 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:16.12.
