AURORA – Waubonsie Valley is celebrating music all month long in March with Music in our Schools Month.
MIOSM is a month-long celebration that promotes music education in schools throughout the country. The observance is lead by the National Association for Music Education (NAFME).
The month of concerts showcases the talents of music students at Waubonsie Valley.
March 4 is the school’s choir concert. March 6 is the orchestra concert. March 11 is the band concert. On March 13, band, orchestra and choir students will perform their capstone concert at Armerding Concert Hall at Wheaton College. March 18 is the Mosaic and World Beat concert, and March 20 is the school’s percussion concert.
MIOSM began in 1973 as a single statewide advocacy day in New York. It became a month-long celebration in 1985.
