AURORA – Warriors Hockey Club scored four goals in the first period on the way to a 7-0 win over Oswego at All Seasons Ice Rink on Sunday night.
Senior Michael McClain scored two of his three goals in the first period, the first at 11:40, with the assist from senior Evan Ziegler and and senior Matthew Shield. Four minutes after that, McClain struck again with another assist from Shield, making it 4-0.
Ziegler also tacked on two goals, his 14th and 15th of the season. His first goal came via an assist from senior William Harding.
In the second period, freshman Ethan Newburg scored his 11th goal of the year off of the assist from sophomore Joseph Pijanowski. Sophomore Markus Palmertz score his 4th goal of the year with 7:10 remaining. Three minutes later, McClain finished off the hat trick with the assist from Ziegler.
Senior Andrew Fichtel and sophomore Tyler Bellot pitched the shutout for the Warriors, stopping a combine 18 shots on goal.
The Warriors improve to 12-1 on the season and will begin the Carillon Cup on Thursday night against Neuqua Valley at All Seasons Red for a 6:50 p.m. puck drop.
