Boys Golf Opens Season with Wins

Will Troy and the Warriors, who finished 11th at IHSA State Finals last season, picked up where they left off to open the 2019 season. After their win at Blackberry Oaks on Thursday, Waubonsie Valley boys golf turned around and won the Bob Sterr Invite on Monday with a score of 293.

The Warriors defeated second-place Benet Academy by 15 strokes (308). Will Troy, who finished 3rd at IHSA State Finals last season. Troy finished first individually with a 4-under-68. The highlight of the day came in the form of a hole-in-one on the 12th hole. Jacob Fritz carded an even-72 to finish fourth individually.

On Tuesday, the Warriors finished second with 163 strokes. Fritz led the way with a 1-over-37 at the McGongale Naperville City Invite at Naperville Country Club.

Waubonsie returns to action at Blackberry Oaks on Tuesday for the Panther Scramble.
