NAPERVILLE – For one athlete on the Waubonsie Valley girls golf team, returning to the IHSA Finals would be a familiar feeling. For another, it would be achieving a high school career goal. As a team, the Warriors placed fifth at the IHSA Sectionals at Springbrook Golf Course in Naperville. Seniors Arushi Singh and Kerrigan Boose advanced to the IHSA State Finals.
Singh finished with a 75, one shot off the lead. Singh was only the second golf in Waubonsie Valley history to advance to the IHSA Finals four times. Bing Singhsumalee accomplished this from 2011 to 2014.
Boose shot an 82, two shots ahead of the cutoff. For Boose, it was a first-time achievement to go along with her all-conference selection.
The two-day IHSA Tournament is Friday and Saturday at Hickory Point Golf Club in Decatur.
