CHARLESTON – Junior Lily Baibak finished 12th in the 1600 at the IHSA Girls Track and Field State Finals on Saturday at Eastern Illinois University.
Baibak ran the mile in 5:21.87. It was the 8th best time in the event at State for Waubonsie Valley girls track and field. She was the first girl to place at State in the 1600 since 2013.
Baibak finished 9th in the preliminaries on Friday with a 5:02.64.
Baibak holds the school record in the 1600 with a 4:59.45.
