Waubonsie Students Honored as Indian Prairie Scholars

AURORA – Waubonsie Valley honored 264 of its students as Indian Prairie Scholars at a ceremony on Wednesday night.

Indian Prairie Scholars are defined as any students receiving a 3.6 cumulative GPA for their previous seven semesters of their high school career.

Over 120 students were also recognized as Illinois State Scholars, which is defined as any student who performed in the top half of their class through their junior and/or scoring in the 95th percentile on the ACT or PSAE.

Staff were also recognized as honored guests, as students selected their most influential educator. Over 80 educators were selected.

Two distinguished alumni were announced, Aneel Belani, class of 2000, and Justin English, class of 1998. Belani graduated from the University of Illinois in 2004. In 2008, he received his DDS Degree at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. In 2010, he received his Post Doctoral Certificate in Endodontics at Temple University and received Board Certification American Board Endodontics in 2011. Belani’s practice has six locations in the Western Suburbs.

English earned his Bachelors in English at Penn State University, his Masters in Counseling and Human Relations at Villanova University, and then he earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University. English runs his own law firm with his wife and law partner, Eileen.
