DEKALB – Sam Wiertelak pitched a complete game and struck out eight as the Warrior softball defeated DeKalb 3-1 on Monday afternoon.
Wiertelak pitched seven innings, allowed no earned runs. She also went 1-for-4 at the plate.
Senior Hannah Laub lead the way offensively, going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and one run, including a home run in the third inning. Gia Cobert, Aislee Morgan, Dezirae Kelly and Alyssa Tukker each added a hit.
The Warriors improved to 13-14 on the year host Neuqua Valley on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.
