Dubey Reaches IHSA Consolation Quarterfinals Before Exit

DEKALB – Badminton sophomore Tisha Dubey had a successful IHSA Tournament for a second straight year.

Dubey won two games in both the championship and consolation brackets before falling to Palatine Fremd’s Yelang Lee.

Dubey defeated Libertyville’s Celia Cathlina, 21-8, 21-9, then beat DeKalb’s Carly Kammes, 21-13, 21-11, before losing to Naperville North’s Kelly Hu, 21-18-21-17.

In the consolation bracket, Dubey again won two straight, defeating Naperville Central’s Megan Moreno, 21-8, 21-7, and Metea Valley’s Pragya Iyer, 21-12, 21-11.

Dubey went 4-2 overall in the tournament. She joins Rebecca Hsu, Joyce Tsai, Chrstine Liu, Shalu Manoharan, and Sonali Manoharan as the program’s only two-time state qualifiers.
