Two Boys Track & Field Athletes Advance to IHSA State

AURORA – Seniors Brady Teeple and Zach Self are headed to IHSA State after their performances at the IHSA Sectionals at Metea Valley High School on Thursday night.

In pole vault, Teeple finished fourth with a vault of 4.46 meters (14’8″), a mark that is the fourth best vault in school history.

Self ran the 1600 meter event in 4:19.81. He remains the third fastest in that event in school history.

Niels De Brouckere finished 4th in the 400 meters in :51.42. Junior Lucas Jaime ran the 100 meter hurdles in :15.52 for fourth place.

In the 300 meter hurdles, Jaime again finished fourth with a :41.92. Senior CJ Fykes finished 5th in :42.03.

The Warriors finished 9th as a team with 41 points. The IHSA State Finals are May 23-25 at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.
