WVTV was recognized for its broadcast of Waubonsie Valley boys basketball’s game against DeKalb on February 16. The production was directed by senior Aryan Khairnar with commentary from junior Cullen Watkins and sophomore Charlie DiVincenzo. Camera operators for the production included seniors Elly Kroening, Delaney Summers, Audrey Young, Rayan Chatterjee and Grant Skurka.

“I’m extremely proud of what the students have accomplished,” said Waubonsie Valley media communication teacher Brian Wiencek, “and it’s a testament to all the hard work that they have put into every production this year.”

The Midwest Media Educators Association is a teacher network consisting of over 40 high school communication programs throughout the Chicagoland area.

Since 2012, WVTV has produced live video stream productions of Waubonsie Valley athletics, music/theater and school events. This school year, due to COVID-19 and spectator restrictions, WVTV streamed over 40 live events, including football, basketball, cross country, swimming, diving, soccer, lacrosse and more.
