“The school board approved a student committee that will consist of two students from every high school,” said Waubonsie Valley senior Aayush Gupta, “and they’ll work with two school board members plus an assistant superintendent of the district.”

“In that committee, they’ll work together to form proposals. They’ll workshop ideas for important student issues. Some of these could include mental health, school start times, diversity among teachers and a bunch of other student issues.”

Currently, sophomores and juniors who are interested in applying to the students school board advisory committee can fill out a Google form at waubonsiestudent.org. The deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. on April 22.
