NAPERVILLE – Waubonsie Valley’s girls basketball program continued its historic 2023 run on Thursday night as the Warriors defeated Naperville North 50-45 in the IHSA Regional Championship at Naperville North High School.
Senior Taylor Curry led Waubonsie with 15 points. Senior Hannah Laub had 14 points, and sophomore Lily Newton added 11 points.
It was Waubonsie’s second straight win over Naperville North, as they defeated the Huskies back on February 7.
It’s the second straight regional championship for the Warriors and 15th in the program’s history. With the win, Waubonsie improved to 23-7 on the year.
The Warriors advance to the IHSA Sectionals on Tuesday night when they face another DVC opponent in Naperville Central for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at West Aurora High School.
