PALATINE – Sophomore Revanth Kothapalli will continue play in the IHSA State Tennis Finals on Friday after going 3-1 in four matches on Thursday.
Kothapalli defeated Lake Park’s Oliver Kubicki, 6-3, 6-1, in the first round. He fell to Barrington’s William Delach, 4-6, 6-4 (10-8). In the consolation bracket, Kothapalli won two straight, sweeping Dundee Crown’s Aarav Shah, 6-3, 6-2, and Benet Academy’s Patrick Burke, 7-5, 7-5.
Kothapalli will now face Downers Grove South’s Sam Plys at Fremd High School.
