HINSDALE – Freshman Mia Bertolini and junior Lily Baibak qualified for the state finals at the IHSA Sectionals on Saturday at Katherine Legge Park.
Bertolini qualified by finishing 13th in 18:58.24. Baibak qualified by finishing 29th in 19:34.80.
Bertolini and Baibak are the 8th and 9th individuals in Waubonsie Valley history to qualify for state competition and the first individual to qualify since 2019.
IHSA State competition is Saturday, November 4 at Detweiler Park in Peoria for a 1:00 p.m. start.
