MORRIS – Waubonsie Valley girls golf graduated two seniors from last year’s second-place regional team. This year, the Warriors hoped to improve upon that performance with a returning core of juniors in Arushi Singh and Kerrigan Boose. The two helped lead Waubonsie Valley to an IHSA Regional championship at Nettle Creek Golf Course on Tuesday.

Singh won the individual competition, shooting a 6-over-77. Boose followed closely behind in second place with a 8-over-79. The juniors were followed by a returning sophomore and three freshman. As a team, the Warriors shot 353, 18 shots better than second-place Oswego East. Other Warrior scores included freshman Emily Skowronski with a 94, freshman Raegan Storin with a 103, sophomore Natalie Schwab with a 106 and freshman Kate Libby with a 108.

The Warriors advance to the IHSA Sectional on October 11 at Broken Arrow Golf Course in Lockport.
