OSWEGO – The Waubonsie Valley girls golf team is headed to IHSA Sectionals after they placed second at regionals on Wednesday at Fox Bend Golf Course in Oswego.
Freshman Kelly Cong and Sophomore Lilly Riley each carded a 19-over-91, good enough for 9th place individually. Cong shot four pars and one birdie. Riley also shot four pars.
Sophomore Ayana Patel shot 23-over-95 and finished 16th. Senior Grace Angelides shot 25-over-97 and finished 18th.
The Warriors shot 374 as a team and edged Metea Valley by three strokes. Waubonsie Valley competes in the IHSA Sectionals on Tuesday at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park.
