DiBernardo Signs Free Agent Contract with New NWSL Team

KANSAS CITY – Waubonsie Valley alum Vanessa DiBernardo has signed a new two-year contract with the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League. DiBernardo elected for free agency in the first year that the NWSL has allowed collective bargaining.

DiBernardo played all of her NWSL career with the Chicago Red Stars, where she amassed over 10,000 minutes of playing time. She was the fourth overall pick in the 2014 NWSL draft.

At Waubonsie Valley, DiBernardo was part of the team that won three IHSA state championships, while going 97-5-6 over her four years as a Warrior. She is the all-time leading scorer in school history with 73 goals and 46 assists.
