HINSDALE – Three Warriors from the boys and girls cross country teams are headed to the IHSA State Finals after their Top 30 performances at the IHSA Sectionals on Saturday at Katherine Legge Park in Hinsdale.
Senior Ethan Marshall lead the boys, finishing in 17th place with a time of 15:50.36. Jacob Tukker also advanced after finishing 22nd in 15:52.80. The Warriors ended up 9th as a team, missing the cut for IHSA State. Two of their top runners, Angel Solis and Aiden Oster, ran the race, but were dealing with injuries.
Freshman Lily Baibak lead the girls with a 28th place finish in 18:50.43. She is the 9th girls cross country runner in Waubonsie history to reach state competition.
IHSA State Finals take place November 6 at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
