AURORA – Riley Roberts threw a near complete game in baseball‘s 7-3 win over Naperville Central on Monday afternoon at WV Baseball Field.
Roberts struck out six, while allowing three runs on six hits in 6.2 innings of work. Owen Roberts came in to close out the game.
Offensively, the Warriors opened with three runs in the first inning and two runs in the second inning.
Ryan Gustaitis went 2-for-3, Owen Roberts went 2-for 3 with 1 run, Josh Hung went 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI, and senior Ben Ford went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
The Warriors travel to Central on Tuesday for the second of a three-game series.
Softball dropped their DVC opener, 8-7, to Naperville Central at WV Softball Field. Aislee Morgan led the way going 2-for-3 with 4 RBI. Gia Cobert, Hannah Laub, Dezirae Kelly and Alyssa Tukker each added a hit.
The Warriors host Metea Valley on Tuesday.
Minooka edged Valley girls lacrosse, 11-10. They’ll host Naperville Central at Metea Valley High School on Wednesday.
Girls soccer defeated Lincoln-Way West, 4-1, at Plainfield North High School on Monday afternoon. The Warriors improved to 6-1 on the season. They’ll take on Geneva next.
