AURORA – Waubonsie Valley defeated Naperville North, 5-2, in the semifinals of the DuPage Valley Conference tournament on Wednesday afternoon. The Warriors advance to the tournament championship on Thursday against Naperville Central.
Waubonsie was down early before they scored five unanswered runs. Ben Ford went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Hiroshy Wong doubled with two RBI, and Ryan Gustaitis, Owen Roberts and Josh Hung each added a hit.
Owen Roberts pitched 5+ innings, allowing one run with seven strikeouts. Riley Roberts picked up the save pitching 1+ innings, allowing no earned runs.
The Warriors improved to 20-9 on the season. Thursday’s DuPage Valley Conference tournament championship is at Waubonsie Valley for a 4:30 p.m. first pitch.
