2021-2022 Course Registration at Waubonsie Valley

2021-2022 Course Registration for Current High School Students at WVHS

The information below is specific to current Waubonsie Valley students (freshman, sophomore and junior students during 2020-2021 school year). Current 8th grade students will follow a different timeline for freshman year course selection. Incoming freshmen families should visit the 8th Grade Virtual Open House Website for information specific to their course selection process.

Course registration, requests and scheduling for the 2021-2022 school year will take place in January and February. Below is a overview of the course selection process at Waubonsie Valley:

January 4th – January 13th- Teachers will make and discuss course recommendations for core and elective classes. Recommendations in core classes will be visible in StudentVue.

January & February- Research your course selection options using the resources posted to the student splash page and https://wvhscounseling.weebly.com/course-registration.html. Students are also encouraged to make appointments with teachers & counselors during the afternoon academic support time to discuss course selection.

January 19th-January 28th- StudentVue & ParentVue are open to view course recommendations and select additional courses. Course selections should be entered by January 28th. Courses are NOT filled on a first come first served basis. All course requests received by January 28th will receive equal consideration. Students and families may log into StudentVue to complete course registration over more than one session.

February 1st-February 26th- Students meet with counselors to finalize their course selections. Meetings occur during the students assigned P.E. period. Meetings will be held over Zoom. If the student is attending Hybrid, they will have the option to meet in person with their counselor.

February 26th- Last day to request level/elective changes. Contact the appropriate academic department chair to request a level change up in rigor. Counselors can process requests to level down in rigor.

May 17th- Course requests are viewable in StudentVue to verify registered classes.

May 17th-May 28th- Students may request elective changes. Requests must be received in writing by the counselor and will be processed on a space available basis. Requests received during this window are not guaranteed. Level changes must be approved by the appropriate academic department chair.

Mid August- Schedules viewable online through StudentVue. Schedules are not finalized until the first day of school and may change after the initial posting.

Course selection tip sheets specific to each grade level can be found on the counseling department website and student splash page. Students and families should reference the grade level tip sheet that correlates to their grade level during the 2021-2022 school year.
