WILLOWBROOK – The DuPage Stars took the Warriors to overtime on Saturday night, but senior Evan Ziegler made sure that’s as far as they got. Ziegler found the back of the net with 1:13 left in the overtime period to help the Warriors past DuPage, 3-2, at Willowbrook Ice Arena.
Senior Michael McClain opened the scoring for the Warriors just four minutes into the first period, with the assist from Matthew Shield and Ziegler. After a Stars goal, senior Andrew Morgan scored his first goal of the season just before the end of the period, giving the Warriors a 2-1 lead.
DuPage tied the game in the second period, and both teams went scoreless in the third period, before Ziegler ended the game in overtime.
