HINSDALE – Senior Antonio Torres is headed to IHSA State after finishing third in the IHSA Sectionals at Hinsdale Central High School on Saturday.
Torres finished third in the 160-pound weight class. The senior won his first match with a pin in :36, before losing his next match. He then won two straight matches with a pin in :58 and 1:55. Torres is now 32-2 on the year.
Ashton Phillips won his first match, 5-0, before losing in the 195-pound weight class. The sophomore then won his next two matches before falling in a 5-2 decision. Phillips finished at 29-12.
Jacob Housour also won his first-round match in the 220-pound weight class, but lost in the second round. Housour then won two straight by pin before losing. Housour finished the year 16-8.
Andrew Meister lost in his two matches in the 182-pound weight class, but finished the season with a 31-17 record.
The IHSA wrestling finals will be Thursday through Saturday at the State Farm Center in Champaign.
