AURORA – Indian Prairie School District 204 will name Dr. Adrian Talley as its next superintendent. The Board of Education will officially vote him in at their meeting on Monday, January 13.
Dr. Talley was hired from Prince George’s County Public Schools, where he spent the last five years as the director of community schools.
Dr. Talley has a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree in higher education from Boston College, and he recently earned his Doctoral degree from George Washington University in 2014.
In a press release from IPSD, board president Michael Raczak said, “The board was impressed by his depth of knowledge, his experience working collaboratively with all stakeholders, and his sincerity and compassion about doing what’s best for children. We believe he will be a wonderful leader for our district.”
Dr. Talley’s contract is for three years at a salary of $255,000 per year. The superintendent’s contract is labeled as “performance-based” on such things as district-wide SAT scores and percentage of student experience in advanced placement and dual credit courses.
There will be a special reception for the community to meet with Dr. Talley on Tuesday, January 14 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crouse Education Center.
