The 2nd-seeded Warriors continue to move up in the school record books, but their biggest challenge comes Friday night when they take on 10th-seeded Plainfield North in the IHSA Regional Championship at Andrew High School in Tinley Park.
On Tuesday, Waubonsie defeated 15th-seeded Lincoln-Way East, 59-44. Plainfield North has won two straight in the IHSA tournament, beating 22nd-seeded Andrew and upsetting 7th-seeded Lockport.
The two teams have met once before back on February 12 with Waubonsie coming out on top, 58-49.
Waubonsie is seeking its first regional title in over a decade. Back in 2008, the Warriors defeated York, 61-40. That year, Waubonsie finished 22-7. This year, the Warriors have won 26 games, which is tied for third most single-season wins in school history.
