
BATAVIA – Owen Roberts threw the 18th no-hitter in Waubonsie Valley baseball history en route to a 3-0 win over Batavia on Thursday afternoon.
Roberts threw seven innings of hitless ball, while striking out 11 and walking one. It’s the second straight year that Roberts has thrown a no-hitter. It’s the 18th no-hitter in the program’s history.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Cole Ruggeri singled in Hiroshy Wong. Ryan Lucas followed with a sacrifice fly to score Josh Hung.
Roberts went 2-for-3 with a walk. Connor Beren went 1-for-2 with an RBI. Hiroshy Wong and Noah Pilon also added a hit apiece.
The Warriors moved to 4-4 on the year and will travel to Oswego on Saturday to take on the Panthers.
