BENSENVILLE – The Warriors were down one goal early to Latin, but that didn’t last long, as they rattled off five straight scores for a 5-1 win in the Blackhawk Cup State Tournament.
Latin went up 1-0 early and held that lead for the remainder of the first period.
Zach Pearce started the scoring for the Warriors early in the second period to tie it up at 1-1. Will Troy took advantage of a power play and tapped in a rebound to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead.
After a penalty kill, it was Pearce again to give the Warriors a 3-1 lead. Ethan Wipff followed with a shorthanded goal, then Pearce capped off a hat trick to give the Warriors the victory.
The Warriors will take on Kings on Tuesday, March 10 for an 8:35 p.m. puck drop at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville.
