AURORA – Waubonsie Valley girls basketball continued its opening season winning ways with a 55-51 win over West Aurora at West Aurora High School on Friday. It was the fourth straight win for the Warriors.
Waubonsie opened up an 11-point lead in the first quarter before the Blackhawks trimmed their lead to one at the half. The teams exchanged the lead a few times before the Warriors again pulled away with a nine-point lead to end the third quarter.
Taylor Curry was the story of the game, finishing with 25 points, ten of which came from the free throw line. Hannah Laub scored ten points and Devin Lynch tallied nine points.
The Warriors host Romeoville on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.
