Last weekend the boys and girls cross country teams competed at Kress Creek Farm in the West Chicago Regional. The warriors ran a difficult 3.0 mile course and turned in solid performances. The girls’ team finished in 5th place and will advance to sectionals as a team. This year’s sectional team is made up of Cassy Tsagaris, Shaelyn Iyer, Anna Li Radcliff, Lauren Deck, Hannah Born, Jamie Elenbaas & Ellen Wagenknecht. This is the first time since the 2009 season that the girls will move on as a team. Individual qualifiers from the boys’ team are senior Jon Vollarth and junior Justin Caton.
This Saturday the boys and girls will be running at Leroy Oaks forest preserve in St. Charles, IL. The girls’ race will begin at 10am and the boys’ race at 11am. The team and coaches invite everyone out to the course to support the warriors as they make a bid for state competition. A breakfast of juice, Gatorade, fruit, doughnuts and bagels will be provided for fans attending the meet.
Parking at the forest preserve is limited, so plan to carpool. All overflow spectators parking will be at two off-site parking locations, Riverside Church and the Kane County Clerk’s Office.
