NORMAL – Waubonsie Valley senior Tyreek Coleman has committed to play basketball for Illinois State University in 2025, according to an X/Twitter post from Coleman.
Coleman posted, “Blessed to announce my commitment to Illinois state!!! I would like to thank GOD, my family, friends, and coaches for everything!!! Special thanks to Coach Pedon and the staff”.
Coleman helped Waubonsie Valley to an historic season in 2023-2024. The Warriors won 27 games last year, which put them in a tie for second most wins in school history in a season. Waubonsie also won its first IHSA regional title since 2019.
