AURORA – Senior Lily Baibak and sophomore Mia Bertolini finished in the Top 10 to lead the Warriors to the next round of the playoffs in the IHSA Regionals at Waubonsie Valley High School on Saturday.
The Warriors advanced as a team, finishing second with 74 points, behind regional champion Naperville North. Naperville Central finished third and Oswego East was fourth.
Baibak finished 7th with an 18:45.70, and Bertolini finished 8th with 18:53.90. Freshman Dhanya Shanmugasundaram was 17th with a 19:20.10. Junior Katherine Heap rounded out the Top 20 with a 19:23.70. Senior Emely Galvez finished 22nd with a 19:27.00.
IHSA Sectionals are Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Katherine Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale.
