AURORA – The Illinois High School Association released it’s seedings for the postseason tournament, and Waubonsie Valley girls basketball is seeded second in the Bolingbrook Sectional.
The Warriors finished the regular season with a 27-1 record and went undefeated in the DuPage Valley Conference. Their only blemish was a 59-54 loss to Fremd. Waubonsie is currently in the midst of a 17-game winning streak.
Benet Academy received the sectional’s top seed with a 26-2 record, going 11-1 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference. The Redwings suffered losses to Nazareth and Lyons.
Waubonsie’s regional bracket consists of West Aurora, Downers Grove South, Plainfield South and East Aurora. They’ll face either Plainfield South or East Aurora on Monday, February 17 for a 6:00 p.m. start.
Waubonsie is hosting the regional semifinals (February 17) and championship (February 20). All three games will be available on YouTube and WVTV.
