AURORA – The Waubonsie Valley chess team begins play in the IHSA State Finals on Friday as the number one seed in the tournament.
At IHSA Sectionals in Hinsdale, senior Aryan Shrigadi went 4-0 in matches, earning 4.0 individual points. Senior Soham Dongre and freshman Anshul Shetty earned 3.5 individual points.
Freshman Anjaneya Rao and juniors Arnav Karthikeyan and Ria Raj each earned 2.5 individual points.
