CHARLESTON – Junior Ishmaiah Elliott lead Waubonsie Valley’s track and field team this weekend with a 14th place finish at the IHSA State Finals at Eastern Illinois University.
In the high jump, Elliott jumped 1.93 meters in the preliminaries, then he jumped a 1.88 meters in the finals to finish tied for 14th. Elliott now holds the 7th highest jump in Waubonsie Valley boys track and field history.
Junior Colin Ford finished 24th in the prelims in the 100 meters with a :10.91. Ford holds the 10th fastest time in the 100 meters in boys track and field history. Junior Jordan Rich finished 25th in the 400 meters with a :50.71. Rich has the 9th fastest time in the 400 meters in boys track and field history.
