AURORA – Danny McGuigan had a 3-for-4 day with 4 RBI to help lead Waubonsie Valley baseball to a 6-1 win over Naperville Central in the IHSA Regional Semifinal on Thursday afternoon.
McGuigan had two doubles, including a bases-clearing hit in the first inning. Nate Cerilli went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Owen Roberts and Hiroshy Wong each added two hits.
On the mound, Roberts went the full seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out ten.
It was the 5th straight win over the Redhawks for the Warriors and 7th win in their last eight games overall. They’ll face 3rd-seeded West Aurora on Saturday for an 11:00 a.m. first pitch at Waubonsie Valley High School.
