Some DeKalb Sports Quarantine Due to Positive COVID Cases

DEKALB – Another DuPage Valley Conference school is asking some of its sports to quarantine, following positive COVID cases, DeKalb High School announced in a press release on Tuesday.

DeKalb girls volleyball, boys soccer, and dance will all quarantine for two weeks. “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused,” said DeKalb athletic diretor Peter Goff, “but our main concern is putting the health/safety is our priority for all of our DHS students and families”

The Waubonsie Valley girls volleyball team will travel to DeKalb on April 15, while the boys soccer team will host the Barbs on that same date. The Waubonsie Valley football team is scheduled to host DeKalb on Saturday at Dick Kerner Stadium.

DeKalb is the third DVC school to quarantine since the traditional fall sports began in March. On March 20, Neuqua Valley football announced it was on pause for two weeks, and Naperville North football quarantined last week because of COVID concerns.
